Day 1 – Monday, May 17 –A morning departure brings you to Plymouth, Massachusetts, where you will meet your guide and have lunch on your own at Seafood Sam’s. After lunch you will tour the first Cape Towns, Sandwich and Hyannis. While traveling through Sandwich, the oldest town on Cape Cod you will hear stories of the Puritans, Quakers, Shawme, Dexter Grist Mill and the Moxie House. Next your guide will conduct a tour of Hyannis including the John F Kennedy Memorial, The Korean War Memorial and much more. Your guide will assist you with checking in at the Bayside Resort. Dinner is included this evening at a local restaurant.
Day 2 – Tuesday, May 18 – Breakfast is included at your hotel. This morning meet your guide for a full day of touring to include the Eastham Windmill, a Cape Cod Lighthouse and a drive through of the Cape Cod National Seashore area. Next you will visit “Land’s End” – PROVINCETOWN. You are now at the extreme tip of Cape Cod. Formerly known as the “Province Lands” the Pilgrims landed here first before they decided to settle across the Bay in Plymouth. After lunch on your own you will Visit PILGRIM MONUMENT & PROVINCETOWN MUSEUM. This 255-foot tower that dominates the town is the tallest granite structure in the United States. The walk to the top is 116 steps and 60 ramps. The Provincetown Museum exhibits highlight the arrival of the Mayflower Pilgrims, the town’s rich maritime history and the building of the monument. You will travel to the “south side” of the Cape to view Chatham Light and the Atwood Museum House. Dinner is included at a local restaurant.
Day 3 – Wednesday, May 19 – Breakfast is included at your hotel. This morning depart for Woods Hole, where you will board the Steamship Authority ferry to the island of Martha’s Vineyard. Upon arrival, you will be treated to the “Down Island Tour” where you will learn the history and lifestyle of the islanders as you pass through Vineyard Haven. There will be free time for lunch in Edgartown. Travel through Oaks Bluffs to see “Cottage City” with its brightly painted cottages and decorative “gingerbread trim. Depart the island at 5:00pm. A lobster dinner is included back on the mainland this evening (an alternate entrée will be offered for any not wanting shellfish).
Day 4 – Thursday, May 21 – Breakfast is included at your hotel. This morning meet your local guide and travel to America’s Hometown Plymouth. You will have a photo opportunity at the Forefather’s Monument, the largest, solid granite monument in the United States. Then you will board a Lobster Tales Cruise to learn about the creatures in the harbor with a “hands-on” approach. You will have free time on the waterfront for lunch on your own. After lunch, there will be several photo stops including Plymouth Rock, and the Mayflower II. Once you have finished photo taking you will visit Plymouth Plantation, the first permanent European settlement in Southern New england. A traditional Turkey Dinner with all the fixings is included at the Plantation.
Day 5 – Friday, May 22 – Breakfast is included at your hotel before departing for home with wonderful memories of your trip to the Cape!
